Bear Table
The concept was to expose a material attribute often hidden in construction. Exposing the end grain of the plywood creates a stunning repetitive visual effect accentuating the undulating form. This technique simplifies the overall design and construction while in turn strengthening the object.
Nopales
The form behind Nopales was used to create scaffolding for light instead of hiding it behind a shade. I used the Dodecahedron as the base geometry which reminded me of the cactus landcape I grew up with as a child.
